    Default General advice on multiple image gallery

    **Newbie**

    Please bear with me as I'm a newbie so I apologise if I'm posting this question in the wrong place.

    I have been on the web page http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/indexb.html and I need some advice to this question:

    I am in the process of desiging a site for a London club. On the site the client wants all the 'usuals' including a link to a gallery page. He envisages that photo's will need to be uploaded on a regular weekly basis given that the club will be promoting different nights. However due to the amount of pictures that will need to be uploaded I was wondering, rather than sit in front of my computer 'inserting' picture after picture and taking an absolute age which picture gallery would you advice me on using. The gallery page will consist of thumbnails and a larger area for the 'viewed' picture. I thought I'd put this question out there as guys are the professionals.

    Many thanks in advance.

    If your server is PHP enabled:

    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...photoalbum.htm

    Might be the best choice. It is a bit advanced, but the instructions are clear enough and folks will help you with it if you decide it is right for this and need help.

    There is also a component (elsewhere, that I can direct you to if needed) that will allow it to be used with an asp enabled server, if you have that, and not PHP available to you and wish to use this script.

    Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. My server does support PHP and I do like the look of the that script - howwever is there a way so that the 'clicked' image appears on the page on not in a 'pop up'? a bit like the 'Image thumbnail viewer'?

    Many thanks in advance

    That's pretty easy to do. Change:

    Code:
    function popuplinkfunc(imgsrc){
    if (popupsetting[0]==1){
    var popwin=open(imgsrc.href, "popwin", popupsetting[1])
    popwin.focus()
    return false
    }
    else
    return true
    }
    at the end of the script to:

    Code:
    function popuplinkfunc(imgsrc){
    if (popupsetting[0]==1){
    var imgHTML='<img src="'+imgsrc.href+'">';
    document.getElementById('loadarea').innerHTML=imgHTML;
    return false
    }
    else
    return true
    }
    That will put the larger image in an element, a division is good, with an id of 'loadarea' located somewhere in the body of the page, example:

    HTML Code:
    <div id="loadarea"></div>
