Default winlogon.exe performed an illegal operation?

i just got an error message that said
'Module winlogon.exe has performed an illegal operation.
Click OK to close or Cancel to debug'

All I did was released the lock on sfc_os.dll in winlogon's process.

i couldn't get a screenshot before it BSOD'd tho I just thought that was interesting enough to share

    EDIT:
But when you release shell32.dll nothing happens. The icons even stay.
