    Default css menu malfunction

I have a menu that works wonderfully in firefox, and IE V. 7 or higher. If in Version 5 or 6 it doesn't work quite the same. here is a link for where the menu is located. If you notice, if in ie 5 or 6 the menu is not transparent and the about wwu and academics menu drop downs go behind the png on the left and behind the left element. Two questions. what is needed for the menu to have transparency in both browsers and what is needed for the menus to be in front of the left png and element. Let me know if you need anything else to help me with this. JF

I'm not sure which menu you are talking about (there are several navigation menus), but Internet Explorer 6 and lower does not support PNG transparency. That may be one of your problems.

so the menu child levels can't be transparent? it would be ok if the picture wasn't transparent. Here is my biggest problem: the drop down parts of the main navigation menu go behind a picture and two columns. It works just fine in Firefox but as usual, IE screwed it up. Thanks for any help, JF P.S. now it is messed up in firefox as well. click here to see what it is doing. if you notice, the drop down parts of the menu go behind the other stuff.
