    Default faded edge marquee

hey this has been bugging me for hours and i seem to cant figure it out any way i do it. anyone have any idea how i might go about making the edges of a marquee fade out so as the item in the marquee hits a certain point it begins to fade..........

basicly what im looking for is the edges are at 0% opacity while the center remains at 100% >.> i thought of maybe if i could stack divs and tables with diffrent opacities but then after thinking that i realized how stupid it was lol

    anyone got any ideas?....

I'm an absolute newb at all of this... however If I understand correctly you have a marquee that has stuff scrolling on it, and you want it to fade out.

I'm not sure how to do this in HTML, but I have done something like this before with graphics. No idea if this will help, but if you can place a graphic, or actually a lot of graphics on top of the marquee then you could pull off this look I think.

Basically the marquee is behind images...and each image on top is transparent to a certain point. The middle one being 100%, and the last one being 0%... the more images of course the less edgy it would be. The images are just the color of your background.

This is just a total brainstorm, so not sure if it's possible to have images upon one another,....but if it is, then this should work.
