Default Nonconsistent column spacing and page gap

I'm hoping someone can help me.

I'm in the final steps of building a website for my company. A lot of people had input, so it's built in tables. That's not the problem, at least not directly, although I think tables play a role.

The homepage address is http://www.girlscoutsjs.org/index2.php. The pages are live, but not seen, again not the best, but we have no state secrets.

My problem is that the spacing between my left menu and the main content isn't consistent in IE and Firefox. It looks fine in Firefox, but in IE the page is wider than it should be. I think this is causing a gap at the top of the page in IE as well.

This problem isn't occurring on any other page, for example, http://www.girlscoutsjs.org/program/patchPrograms.php

What have I done wrong to make the home page too wide in IE and what is causing the gap?

Thanks for any help anyone may have.

    Default

The span Camping/Facilities seems to be pushed out beyond its margin on the home page. Not sure why it's not as noticeable on the other pages. See if it happens if you shorten the word, maybe make it just Facilities
