    Default Falling autumn Leaves

    1) Script Title: Autumn Leaves

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...leaves_dev.htm

    3) Describe problem: I can get this script to work on PC-Explorer, andin my GoLive Preview page, but not on PC-Foxfire, or on Mac. All the leaves just stay clumped in the upper left hand corner. It of course works at: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex3/leaves.htm on all browsers and platforms. I have tried directly pasting the code from the developers page onto a clean webpage with no other coding or javascript and it still did not work. Why would it work on Firefox on the demo page and not on my page?

Many thanks. And I'm sure you have guessed, I am not a programmer. :-(
BTW, I can get the snow effects script to work on all platforms. I really need it to be the leaves script as it has to be different images floating down.

Do you have a link to your problem page so that we may see if it has something to do with clashing javascripts on that page (whether it be produced on purpose by you or automatically using your GoLive program). Without that, there's really nothing more I can say.

That's an old script. It was written assuming quirks mode. However, as most modern web pages are written with a DOCTYPE that can (and usually does) throw a browser into stricter compliance with standards, this breaks the script in FF.

Here is a link to a version that doesn't have that problem:

Don't get scared, both the direction of movement and the speed are easily configurable. Use your browser's 'view source' to get the code.

    Hi Supreme Commander Coder,
There was a post a few years ago, where you made the leaves slowly disappear.. I tried to adapt that, but, being the ludite coder that I am, I got the leaves stuck in the corner, and then they disappeared. :-(
The link to the post is: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/forums/s...ng+leaves+time

Could you please tell me how to adapt this script to todays standards. Also, is there a way to make the leaves fall down the sides of the page and not directly over the middle? Not to ask too much, oh honored coder... :-)
    Cheers,
    harley
