Ajax Tabs Persistance Feature

Is it at all possible to have a tab persistance feature for the Ajax Tab Script, similiar to that of the regular tabs script

This would be such a nice feature. I tried to see if there was enough commonality between the tab content one and ajax, but since i dont know enough about javascript i didn't figure it out. If its possible can some one please help. I really need it.
