Default Thumbnail viewer fails to function in IE6

The thumbnail viewer script @ http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/thumbnail.htm, doesn't work in internet explorer 6, while the description states that its compatible with IE5+.

Is there a mistake in the description or in the script? You can see what I mean by trying out the demo available on the script page in IE6.

It just opens in image in the same window, rather than displaying it in the intended frame.

    Fantastic site by the way.

    The demo page:

    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex4/thumbnail.htm

works here in IE 6. Are you talking about that or your implementation of the demo?

That's bizarre, are you sure you're using IE6? I'm talking about the site's own demo, with the women and baby. It doesn't work in my own implementation either though.

When I click one of the thumbs in IE6, I see the loading gif come up while it loads, but instead of opening the image in the custom box it just opens in the same window it as if it were a normal link.

If it works in your's and it's IE6 I wonder what could be wrong on my end...

Yes, I'm using IE 6 on an older machine running XP service pak 2. On my newer machine I use v 7 when testing in IE, but I hauled out my old machine just for this. What OS are you using? Do you have any software suites that include third party firewalls? Are you sure you are using the default settings in IE 6? Do you have more than one version of IE installed, and if so, how?

BTW, I'm glad to see that you are apparently using Opera as your primary browser. That's the one I use.

Yeah, Opera is a really great piece of work.

I run windows XP home with service pack 2. I disabled all firewalls on my computer, lowered IE6's security settings, and restored defaults on everything else just in case, but nothing has changed. It still fails to work properly. I have only IE6 installed, I never use it except to test page display, so it's never been updated to 7.
