    Would this
    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...ndow/index.htm
    or something from
    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex8/index.html
    work?

If not, please explain a bit more.

    Default need help for DHTML

    Hi,
Thanks for the replying so quickly.

See i have a website with all navigation on my left and some advertisements on my right, i have search option and when i search for something and for that if i click on search button, then a new layered window has to open on the previous home page covering only that part of page which had some content without covering the navigation and all. this new window shud not look like a window but shud look like a layer on top of the old and it shud have a close button on which if i click i shud c my home page back.

    thanks,
    manasa

One of those scripts should work, then, with just less formatting to make it look like a window. Those aren't windows, but just layers formatted to look like windows.
The close functionc can be anything, as long as you use the right javascript command on the link.
Positioning should be easy if you just match the existing div.
