    Default Checking userid in a form using external .js files

    I have this form, I want one of the inputs to have a onblur feature where it checks to see whether the username they entered is correct with the corrisponding username and password.
    HERES THE CATCH!
    AFTER 5 TRIES IT NO LONGER DISPLAYS WHETHER THE PERSON WAS CORRECT OR INCORRECT WITH THE ATTEMPT. if you can put something in there that tells that it was disabled because of 5 tries or something like that...
    oh, and it can't be a prompt...

    thanks alll

    You can use my encrypted password script; add these lines to the top of passCheck() to do the five-tries thing:
    Code:
    if(passCheck.tries && passCheck.tries > 5) return false;
    passCheck.tries = (passCheck.tries || 0) + 1;
