Need help with Required field(s) validation

I copied and pasted to Required field(s) validation from this website. It works great on firefox but does not work on Internet Explore. I'm trying to figuer out why it doesn't so I need help. Web developing is new thing for me, and having hard time... need help... thank you very much:confused.

When one presses Place Order, it should check if the required fields are filled or not and display message if not.
