    Default Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v1.5)

    1) Script Title: Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v1.5)

    Edit: 2) Script URL (on DD): Note - this link is now to the much improved (2.4 or greater) version - http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...nslideshow.htm - I would now recommend using it rather than this earlier interim update.

    3) Describe problem: Isn't it about time to fix the few typos in this wonderful script and add true support for fading in Safari 2 as claimed in the description?

    Updated code (tested by many satisfied forum participants):

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    /***********************************************

    * This notice MUST stay intact for legal use

    fadeimages[2]=["photo3.jpg", "http://www.javascriptkit.com", "_new"] //image with link and target syntax

    var fadeimages2=new Array() //2nd array set example. Remove or add more sets as needed.
    //SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed

    crossobjcontainer.onmouseout=function(){cacheobj.mouseovercheck=0}
    }
    this.rotateimage()
    }

    </script>
    Notes: This also allows fading support in all browsers that use generic opacity (what Safari 2 really uses) and doesn't break any of the well thought out backward compatibility of the original script.

    A related JavaScript error (which is apparently corrected in this version of the script) in recent versions of WebKit is being tracked here:

    Yes, from reading that report and its resolution, my modifications to the indicated function are similar to those used to resolve the issue in the comments section of the above linked bug report. However, they also include additional fixes there and in other functions to enable the slide show to work more compliantly in all versions of Safari.
