Default Strange red underline on text hover state

On the website i'm working on i made it so these blue buttons have no underline using text-decoration:none, but the text still seems to have a red underline when you hover over it.

    See what i mean here:

Any idea why its doing it?

doesn't show red underline in ie6 and ff1.5

however in IE6 the background image is cut off on the bottom. to fix it i would say make the line-height: larger

I'm not seeing it in Opera 9.01, FF 1.5.0.11 or IE 7. Unless you are using a Mac, even if you are - it may be a browser setting in your browser. On Mac, it could possibly also be an OS setting. What browser and OS are you seeing this with?
