Question novice looking for script - downloading

Looking for a script that will allow a person to download stuff by clicking on a link. For example...if I want someone to be able to download a zip file from my website they can click on the link and have the Run or Save dialog box come up.

I'm just learning to use scripts in html. I don't know anything about CSS or PHP or anything so please keep this in mind when sending or creating a script :-)

If anyone can point me to where to find one I would appreciate it.
I don't know what the name of such script would be so I hope somone can help me.

    Thanks in advance

It will do it by default. If you click a link with a file other than a image, or text the browser should automatically try to download or run it

I'm nto sure I get what you're saying, explain exactly what you want done. If you already have a script still please explain, now I'm curious.

Okay I'm making a website (trying to that is) and I'm going to be offering my incredimail and my OE scripts for OE users...stationery. Well in order to do that I need to find someway for them to click on a link to be able to download the stats. Whether it is in IMF format or Zip format etc.

Being a newbie to these forums and stuff like this I'm not even sure this is the right place to ask this questions...lol

Anyway I hope this is more clear as to what I want to do.

    Hugs
    Rita
