Javascript crossobject has no properties

I am new to javascript and having some difficulties

I am setting up a manual scroller and receiving this error message.

this.crossobj has no properties
moveupp()
control("up")
onmouseover(mouseover clientX=0, clientY=0)
var topint = parseInt (this.crossobj.style.top)

I am able to view this error in firebug for firefox.

I feel that I have everything set correctly but the text will not scroll and I receive this error message every time I mouseover the up or down arrows.

Try it without the other script(s).

When I turn off the slideshow script all seems to work well.

Any ideas on what I can do to get these scripts to play nice together?

It doesn't appear to be an onload conflict. This means that it is probably a problem where one script is redefining one or more of the variables, functions and/or elements used by the other script.

It might actually be easier to try using:

for the slide show.

Thanks for the options! I was really hoping to use the existing slideshow since it can be controlled from the backend of a joomla site. But it is great to know of alternatives.

What would be involved in redoing the variables or functions in the text scrolling script?

I am not to experienced with javascript but I am willing to follow directions or donate to a person or their favorite project for a solution to this situation.

I am actually close to a solution on another script. Everything works fine in Firefox but not IE. I can post a new thread about this situation if you would like.
