Actually, that was the first thing I tried. Trust me, I Googled it, read and then got the software and tried to do it and although I could easily reduce the frame size (I reduced each frame around 45%, the overall kbs was still over 200 kbs.
Try optimizing it. Also, try removing uneeded frames.

I might add that, at a certain point, an animated .gif's byte size cannot be further reduced without losing too much resolution and/or smoothness of play. Paint Shop Pro's Animation Shop offers some optimizing techniques as do other programs and web forms. Some practice and/or trial and error are required to get the most out of any image optimization.
