    Red face Fade-in image slideshow question: how to make it link?

    1) Script Title: Fade-in image slideshow

    2) Script URL (on DD): Not sure on DD, because I found the script originally on another site, but thanks to the credit I was able to find you. Here it is on my Web design:
    http://www.page3design.com/zetec/web...omingsoon.html.

    <a href="https://license.zetec.com/account_server/">
    <script language="JavaScript1.2">
    //Fade-in image slideshow- By Dynamic Drive
    //For full source code and more DHTML scripts, visit http://www.dynamicdrive.com
    //This credit MUST stay intact for use

    var slideshow_width='723px' //SET IMAGE WIDTH
    var slideshow_height='226px' //SET IMAGE HEIGHT
    var pause=3000 //SET PAUSE BETWEEN SLIDE (3000=3 seconds)

    var fadeimages=new Array()
    //SET IMAGE PATHS. Extend or contract array as needed
    fadeimages[0]="images/masthead_comingsoon1.jpg"
    fadeimages[1]="images/masthead_comingsoon2.jpg"
    fadeimages[2]="images/masthead_comingsoon3.jpg"
    fadeimages[3]="images/masthead_comingsoon4.jpg"
    fadeimages[4]="images/masthead_comingsoon5.jpg"

    ////NO need to edit beyond here/////////////

    var preloadedimages=new Array()
    for (p=0;p<fadeimages.length;p++){
    preloadedimages[p]=new Image()
    preloadedimages[p].src=fadeimages[p]
    }

    var ie4=document.all
    var dom=document.getElementById

    if (ie4||dom)
    document.write('<div style="position:relative;width:'+slideshow_width+';height:'+slideshow_height+';overflow:hidden"><div id="canvas0" style="position:absolute;width:'+slideshow_width+';height:'+slideshow_height+';top:0;left:0;filter:alpha(opacity=10);-moz-opacity:10"></div><div id="canvas1" style="position:absolute;width:'+slideshow_width+';height:'+slideshow_height+';top:0;left:0;filter:alpha(opacity=10);-moz-opacity:10"></div></div>')
    else

    setTimeout("rotateimage()",pause)
    }
    }

    function rotateimage(){

    resetit(curcanvas)
    var crossobj=tempobj=ie4? eval("document.all."+curcanvas) : document.getElementById(curcanvas)

    function resetit(what){
    curpos=10
    var crossobj=ie4? eval("document.all."+what) : document.getElementById(what)
    if (crossobj.filters)
    crossobj.filters.alpha.opacity=curpos
    else if (crossobj.style.MozOpacity)
    crossobj.style.MozOpacity=curpos/100
    }

    function startit(){
    var crossobj=ie4? eval("document.all."+curcanvas) : document.getElementById(curcanvas)
    crossobj.innerHTML='<img src="'+fadeimages[curimageindex]+'">'
    rotateimage()
    }

    if (ie4||dom)
    window.onload=startit
    else
    setInterval("rotateimage()",pause)

    </script></a>

    3) Describe problem:
    Not a problem/error but a basic question about linking/anchoring and JavaScript.

    I want to make the image slideshow link to a page within the site, but the usual A tags don't seem to be doing it the trick. I take it you cannot put an A tag around a JavaScript and have it work in the same way as if it were wrapped around text or an image. (A) Is there an additional javascript that I can add to the page to make the slideshow link? And---here's the kicker--- (B) is it possibe to make each image link to a different place? For example, if one slide talks about the new location, and the next talks about a new product, and a third talks about a download... if we could make each slide link off to another place, that would be huge.

    By the way, the slideshow looks phenomenal. I am very pleased. Thank you so so much for sharing your expertise.

    Best,
    Barry
