Form Input, Confirmation Page and Thank you Page
Hi guys,
First post here please go easy on me as I am kinda weak in java script and had a bad exp in another forum with some hostile members. I hope this forumn is much more friendlier
.
I am trying to revamp this survey form
http://www.mayooryspa.com/Html/Know%20Your%20Body.htm
which I previously did and found it messy and I would like it to forward to a confirmation page where the user gets to see the details he or she has entered and also letting the user know that the his message has been sent.
I have tried searching the net for tutorials on this but had no luck at all. Most of them are seems to done in CGI perl format which I have no clue about. I hope you guys can recommend me a site or can give me a liek a simple example of how to call output of an input form. Many Thanks
Rgds

Do you want to accomplish this using Javascript or a server side (PHP, ASP, etc) language? If you are looking for a PHP solution, you could probably take a look at the following websites:
http://www.php.net/
http://www.php-mysql-tutorial.com
If you can post the code for the HTML form, we could probably write a script for you, or at least point you in the right direction.
Hope this helps.

Many thanks for your reply. I would like to create the whole thing to be in Javascript as I dont have a server to try out my php script. here is the code for the survey form. There are quite a lot of errors. The form mainly ask the audience to select their body type and I want it to end up in another page showing your body type is this blah blah. My alert code seems not to be working as well.
Here is the code I uploaded in a text file on a another free web site geocities.com as there is a file size limit on the forum as well as upload.

You can contact me at tonywanders@yahoo.com if you have any suggestion or anything that can help me make this form a succes I would really appreacate it. Best Regards

Hi there,
Your best bet is to use a server w/database (PHP, ASP). I cannot think of any JScript that could have the functions to grab data without a server system, you may want to try looking around. There are many hosting companies that are cheap.
Hope this helps!

Along with what JShor said, there are several free hosts that have server side scripting installed. Check around google, but I think one is called "100webhost.com" or something like that. Hope this helps.

Hi thanks for the replies guys.
Ill try to sign up on the php soon and figure it out.
The reason why I wanted to use pure java script because of this site here which is what I am trying to achieve where it displays what the user has selected on another page. Is there any good sites on the net with good tutorials on forms, javascript and php? Or any books anyone can recommend me would really apreaciate it. I am more of a designer and never really was good in the programming part so I am kinda like noob at it and need like a step by step tutorial. Thanks

As far as tutorials for PHP, I would recommend one of the following:
http://www.php.net/
http://www.php-mysql-tutorial.com
As for learning anything else (PHP included), I would recommend the following:
http://www.w3schools.com (this one has tutorials anything and everything pretty much.)
Hope this helps.
