need advice on email protection

I have a Homestead website and when I tried using various email harvesting protector codes, I got error reports. My next step was to use a newsletter image on my newsletter webpage, http://www.ttcollectiblegifts.com/newsletter.html. It is my understanding that email harvesters scan website html like robots do for website listings. So I'm thinking that if my email address isn't in the "source code" I shouldn't have the spam problem. Is this correct? I looked at my source code for my newsletter page, and didn't see any email addresses listed there. I linked my newsletter email address to my newsletter image. So, am I protected from spam harvesters by doing this? If not, does anyone here have another recommendations?

If the email address is in plain sight in the source code as it is in your case, the spam bots will have no trouble finding it. If, on the other hand you were to replace the:

href="mailto:news . . . legifts.com"

with this:

href="mailto:%6e%65%77%73%6c%65%74%74%65%72%40%74%74%63%6f%6c%6c%65%63%74%69%62%6c%65%67%69%66%74%73%2e%63%6f%6d"

It would make things much harder on the spam bots.

I would love to do that, if I knew how. Can you give me the javascript for an image?

That isn't javascript. It is a combination of HTML entities and escape sequences, both of which are interpreted by the browser as ordinary text (in this specific case) even when javascript is disabled. All you need to do to use that with the image that you have is include it as the href for the link that you have. But, since you now seem to want a subject included, I will write out the entire tag sequence for you:

There is no need to obfuscate the image itself as, spam bots will not see it as anything noteworthy. You might want to change its name to something less obvious though but, this probably will make little difference.
