Building a PHP/MySQL Web App

Hi all,

Have just started learing PHP/MySQL and am hooked! But all the tutorials I have read discuss the technical side of using these languages. I wanted to know more the logisitics, say I want to try and build a small Project Management system. My question on this is the planning, do I need from the get go do have all my tables known? And also when building is it common to add dummy data? Just wanted opinions on how each of you would go about the process... Is there a general order you all use?

Yes, you create your tables first with the CREATE TABLE ... command:

CREATE TABLE mytable (id int(6) auto_increment, values, PRIMARY KEY(id),UNIQUE ID(id),KEY id_2(id))

Then you do the queries.

this code will print out everything located in the table "dbname"

Yes. Project planning is part of project management, which relates to plan and subsequently report progress within the project environment.

Before moving to technical side of the project, better make the plan for your project.

Sure, while building the table you should try with dummy data. It would be much better, before storing real data.
