some people are born with creativity, the rest of us learn it.

try reading some books or doing some tutorials.

chovy: I never learn from books(I just don't have the thing needed to learn from books).

BLiZZaRD: I have nothing, I am just trying to learn(which means I am doing this on free will and not for any project or anything).

Demonicman: All the adobe programs are freaking expensive too. I instead use all the open source programs, they are better, free and work better than the proprietary ones.

Choose some good colors and fonts to start with. Pick three main colors you could use for your site and build around it (lightskyblue, blue, darkblue). Good fonts are tahoma 10pt, arial 11pt, verdana 10pt, verdana ref 11pt. There's alot of good fonts you could use. Remember: you're always trying to keep your content at the center of your users' attention, so again, build around your content, not your menus or headers/footers.
    Just some notes:

-If you use H1 tags for headers, use font-weight:normal. It looks too blocky otherwise
-Standard link colors don't look proffesional, try to come up with something
-Most colors on your site (including images) should reflect your overall color scheme
-Be consistent on your content. (use similar headings, sub-headings, link navigation, etc.)

First of all visit others site which lie in the same category. I mean suppose you want to develop a site for a cloth merchant, visit the site of some other cloths merchants. and take some idea from there. Merge the their design in one design to make your own site. That's what I have done so far

    Gimp is an image-editing program

and to vai... whatever his name is:
and take some idea from there.
Look but don't take. Although anything on the internet can be stolen, it doesn't mean you should. The "general idea" is good enough if you're after someone else's design.
