How to put image in this code?!

I have this code below but i dont know how to put images into the main article. I cant use normal html image code as it doesnt work! Any ideas or help much appreciated! The code below is where i put the articles which are then displayed in the next column of the my website. example of this code in work HERE

Any ideas or help much appreciated and much needed!

Try this:

24/01/07 <a href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="change('Main article <img src=\'test.gif\'> blah blah')">Black Widows announce assistant manager</a></font></br>

Notice how I used single quotes around the attribute and I also escaped those quotes with a backslash.
