I'm having a web page project for a friend. The project is for an exclusive club she wanted to add a forum like environment the only thing conflict is to track who's online and how many guest are visiting the site.

Are their php scripts for this?

If you are looking (or going) for installing a forum kind of item I would suggest PHPBB.

It supports all the things you've mentioned.

Its a complete package based both on server-side as well as client-side in PHP. It is very difficult to maintain a forum only using client-side code.

I like phpbb, but I would personally recommend SMF

I currently use both and aside from the smileys handling hacks, I can't find anything phpbb does better then SMF, and SMF is a lot more clean and Admin friendly.
