Default Login prompt to different page of WebSite

I want to create a link on my HomePage that has a button called "Company Store" - when clicked, you will be presented with a prompt for a username and password. This can be universal for now. After authentication, I want to page to change to another page within our WebSite that will have an external link to a Website where orders will be completely processed.

The idea is, that we want to restrict Company Store purchases to "employees only" thus, having a password to get to the link for this outside source hopefully should manage that.

Any other ideas to accomplish this is welcomed!

    Thanks

You could do that with htaccess, or a server side login script. For a simple solution, try using htaccess. (go to this page for a wizard).

    Hope this helps.

I'm very much a beginner. We used Homstead (homestead.com) to build and host the site with built in tools. Will this be able to be accomplished the way we are set up? After reading the tutorial you mentioned, I'm still confused...
