Help setting up some kind of folder?

Hey I have a slight application problem I could use some assistance with.

My office is connected to a few networks, normal, no big deal there. My bosses came to me and asked me to set up a folder on one of the networks that was private, perhaps even password protected.

We are running Win XP and Win 2K on the computers here, and the shared drive is where they want the folder.

I have tried a few applications, but nothing seems to quite work. All I want is one folder that is on the shared drive that is either hidden from everyone but those two persons (via their computer log in maybe?) so they can pass documents and reports between the two of them.

The main reason is they have a lot of sensitive materials to discuss and handle, but they work opposite shifts, so they rarely see each other.

Its a good I dea I thought, but I can't figure out how to get something to work.

I don't need a fort Knox here, just something to keep the honest people honest.

If you are on a Win2k machine, simply create the folder and share it on the network. Once shared, click on Permissions and add only those users you want to have access to the folder. Not sure on a Win XP, but pretty sure it should be close to the same.

Right-click it and go to Properties, Sharing & Security. There are options there similar to UNIX permissions, allowing restriction of access rights to certain users or groups.

So would I need to then make these two into their own group?

You could, or just specify the users themselves.
