Default Switch Menu II script working in IE but not Firefox...puzzled..please help.

    1) Script Title: the switch menu II script

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...witchmenu2.htm

    3) Describe problem:

The script works fine in IE6 (the latest ver. that I have), but not in Firefox (2.x). I would like to be able to have cross-browser compatibility. I know more people use IE but still nice to be able to include a #2, plus I use Firefox, and it's depressing not being able to see the script work. I've validated my site, fixed all the bugs that were listed (I think - the ones I thought I could fix anyway) except the ones generated by amazon's clickthrough links (I've excluded them to save space here). Also validated my CSS and fixed everything except the "filter:alpha(opacity=100);" line. I assumed it was necessary, but W3C kept saying "parse error". Both the .js and sddm.css file are in the same directory and I haven't changed either names.

Dunno what to do? I even copied the original code from DD just to see if I deleted or somehow messed up the code when translating it to my site. No dice. However, I can view the menu and it works just fine if I view it on DD's site with both IE6 and firefox 2.x, so I know it must work in my browser. I'm assuming that somehow I'm messing something up, but I've done all that I know how to do, I'm stuck.

Hoping someone can help me out...please, it's driving me crazy:

We would need a link to your problem page to have a good chance at diagnosing this.

EDIT: Ok, I apologize. I just checked the site and almost everything seems to be working. I don't get it...when I posted it, the site was "broken" in my FF browser. There are still a few bugs though that are leaving me scratching my head (like why the spacing in the right-hand side menu bar is so different between FF and IE), especially since I haven't touched the site since before lunchtime. When I view the page below in FF, the links on the right menu bar are all jumbled together...yet in IE they look fine. Is this a problem that can be reviewed here or am I now off topic?

Hope someone can help, or point me in the right direction.
    Thanks.

also, now for some strange reason, my CSS rules are not being applied to the link menu going across the top. CSS link: http://www.twintierfinancial.com/Scripting/sddm.css

Very frustrating. Hope you can help. Thanks.

The main problem in FF seems to be that the individual dropMenu divisions have the wrong height set in their inline style. You should be able to fix that by not setting any height for them. And, you need to include more br elements in the link texts inside of them so that they wrap where you want them to, not where the browser decides that they need to.

The only one that has any br tags in it I can see in the Articles and Essays dropMenu is this one:

    HTML Code:
    The Truth About Your<br>
    401(k).

    Default Still not working

    Thanks John.

I changed the height (actually just deleted it from the stylesheet) and decided to use all links in the "recommended books" section for a "cleaner" look). However, a new problem sprang up:

Now, the links for the drop down menu don't highlight or underline for the "Recommended Books" drop down menu.

Also, the menus no longer collapse/expand
So they don't work in IE or FF. I don't understand why?

In addition, the drop down menu itself (the light green section where the links are located) seems to be overlapping the Title/Main Link above it (i.e. the submenu for "Articles and essays" overlaps the "Articles & Essays" Link). Why is this happening?

Can you point out what needs to be fixed so that this will work like it should?

    Thanks
    Dave
