Default Yahoo Directory Or Multiple Others ?

I'm interested in people's opinions on whether the money spent on a Yahoo Directory listing would be better spent on a number of other directories who's inclusion fees are much less ?? I'm looking at this from a backlinks point of view as I don't expect to many direct referalls from the Yahoo directory anyway.......

I wouldn't spend any money on trying to get people to your site. If you can't draw them in with good content, then what's the point?

Besides, after time, if your site is well done and interesting you will have other people offer YOU to link to them. A much more satisfying system in my book.

Also, word of mouth from your visitors/members (referrals) are a good way to bring them to your site.
