    Arrow Dynamic Images & Transitions

    Hello all....

I'm working an implementation of Flash where I have images being loaded in dynamically through an external xml file (for a slideshow bascially).

    that part works fine...
but I am wondering if there is way to add some transitions between the images (nothing fancy, a simple alpha fade or something) using actionscript.

    thank you!

Use masks. They are a lot neater and can do more effects.

For example, you will have 2 of each picture. One will be faded and the other will be the normal view. You will load both in the same pane, at the same time, the normal one on top of the faded one. Then you will have a mask over the picture revealing the faded picture from underneath. Animate the mask how ever you like, be it moving off the side, shrinking, etc.

As the mask is animated it will basically un-reveal the faded version, leaving behind the normal one.
