    Default Flash Rasterising My PNG

    Hi All,

I have a PNG file, and when I import it into Flash it doesn't give me the option to retain layers it just rasterizes it straight away... Anyone had this problem?

I would guess that you are importing from Fireworks then?

Are you importing to library or straight to stage?

I've tried both ways always the same result, it just imports it as a flattened bitmap image

If you are using Fireworks and have your Flash open you can directly import it from there, I think this is how you get around the flattening.

I haven't experienced this as I haven't ever needed to retain the layers for a specific image, the overall look of any layered images or PSD files was what I wanted, so if it did happen I didn't care enough to look.

There may be other ways arond this though, depending on what you need the layers inside Flash for.
