    Default Should I use Javascript?

I'm working on a website for a friend whom is an artist.
We have his sections divided off, graphic design, photography, etc...

Well in the graphic design section, he has a bunch of work. In a handful of categories.

    example:

    Magazine Ads
    img_thumb | img_thumb | img_thumb | img_thumb

    CD covers
    img_thumb | img_thumb | img_thumb | img_thumb

    Poster Design
    img_thumb | img_thumb | img_thumb | img_thumb

    etc...

All that lays in one .div and is organized in a table with in that .div.

I would LOVE to somehow get it where the initial view shows the titles

    Magazine Ads
    CD covers
    Poster Design

Then when clicked on the titles it expands the minigallery (so to speak) below it. I have 0 experience in JS though . Could someone please help?
