Is there a way to trace the source of tracking cookies or spyware
Is there a way to check whether a site has tracking cookies or spyware,ie to trace the source of tracking cookies or spyware?
I notice that the same spyware/tracking cookies have been showing up when I did a scanning using SPYBOT and AD-AWARE and I wonder which site(s) that I frequented are trying to track me.

They aren't tracable, per se, but you can find out some info. If they do happen to be cookies, they are from a certain domain. that's the domain that gave it to you. however, it might have been done with xss (cross site scripting), an iframe, plugin, or etc., so it might not be just that simple (ie a page on, for example, google could give a cookie from yahoo, if they were connected in the right way).
Likely, a LOT of them are from popups which are usually from 'ad' type domains. (like ads.com, or something along those lines)
an easy test would be using spybot, clearing everything, then one by one visiting sites and seeing what comes up with it.
