The example already doesn't contain the default bullet associated with lists. Or am I misunderstanding?

You are correct, the EXAMPLE looks perfect it does not contain any bullet. However, I am getting bullets.

Thanks, and please consider this issue as a "user error" and CLOSE.
I had created the ff:
1. Created a <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="whatever.css"/> and put it in the <head></head> section.
2. Added whatever.css into the root directory.
3. and, put the html in the <body></body>
To correct the problem, I simply added the css code to the head with the html to the body.
