    Default Warning message PHP/mysql

could you advice what is going on with the below warning message

Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource

I keep getting this as I attempt to install some software and access info from my database.
Searched the internet without success...any help here guys on what to do??
Just checking my routes to the include folder, think I have been looking tooooo long!!
I have the program installed thus

    www.mydomain.com/docs/PROGRAM/

inside this is the includes folder and the route I have put into for all the gumph to find it is

    ./includes/

    so that seems ok?

the route I have to the database is OK apparently so I shall try your trick with the print error message
Just to check, where it asks for host in the mysql connection I have tried both the external (www.blah) and internal localhost and both bring up the same message
