Question How to redirect to a HTTPS pages using DD script

    1) Script Title: How to redirect to a HTTPS URL in my site using DD script

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...jaxcontent.htm

    3) Describe problem: I get an error ("Permission Denied") every time I try to re-direct from a Non-SSL URL to a SSL URL withing the same domain.

I am using the DD script from this site, is there a work around to accomplish this?

    Please advise.

    Thanks.

Well, what do you mean by re-direct? If you mean load secure content into a non-secure page, I don't think you are going to be able to do that. I don't even think that you can load non-secure content into a secure page.

On the other hand, if you mean that you cannot change the entire window to a secure page via a regular link, there should be a way to do that.

Then again, you might mean an actual re-direct. If so, what type of re-direct are you using?

I am just trying to load the content of my site from a secure URL using ASP Response.Redirect or just using link that reference to a page from the secure URL that will update the content of the site. Basically the content will be secure, the rest will not be secure since there is not need for it.

So, if I am in http://www.mysite.com, I want to load in the contet of the site with stuff that is coming from https://www.mysite.com.

Right now I get the "Permission Denied" message because the browser doesn't allow that for security reasons.

I read an article for a way around to fix this problem but I can't find it.

Do you know anything about how can I accomplish this?

I have barely more than a clue myself how that would be done. There may be several ways, or none. I recall seeing some talk (no actual code, though there may be some) in these forums about using PHP to somehow fetch pages like these as well as ones from other domains.

It strikes me as not worth the trouble and potentially unwise. Either your content is secure or it is not, once you start cleverly mixing the two, you may outsmart yourself. It shouldn't hurt anything to have content that doesn't need to be secure to be so. Then it could support the secure content being inserted.

    Using php wouldn't be hard.
    <?php include('urlhere'); ?>

Then, if really needed, ajax could dynamically grab that php page.

Does that really work for showing secure content on a non-secure page? You've done this?
