Default Flash for linux(f4l) + windows installation .. howto??

    Hello everyone,

Sorry if this is the wrong forum(I was not sure where to post) but anyways, can anyone tell me how to download f4l in windows? I have been banging my head to do this for ages(and still no success).

Any help would be (more than)greatly appreciated.

EDIT: With Twey's kind reply I just realized that I typed "download" instead of "install". Here's the correct post.

Download? Go here. Install? That could be trickier. It's called "Flash for Linux" for a reason

I know why it is called "Flash for Linux" but unfortunately I can't afford to have Adobe flash in my computer(first thing, it needs admin's privileges to install, second, it's too expensive). So I need a way to install what I can get *flash 4 linux*. I hope I was able to clear myself.

There are several free Flash-creation packages available for Windows, all of which are probably superior to F4L, which is still in beta Alas, I'm not a Flash guy, so none spring immediately to mind (and a quick Google turned up only one result thanks to an irritatingly blandly-named "Flash Creator" ¬_&#172.

Yea I get it but what I need is something similar to flash, not just a flash creator. I downloaded the software link you gave me and installed it too but unfortunately it doesn't fulfill my needs and also displays a stupid "Demoversion" in the exported object. So any other options??

    Thanks again.

I wont tell you it is imposible... but it is impossible to put F4L on Windows.

F4L needs other packages that Windows just wont run, no matter what you do.

Second any other program that is not a "demoversion" will require Admin privies to install as well. Are you on a school computer, or does tha comp Admin not trust you?

If the later, if you ask I am sure they would put something on for you, if former, you may find that the school already has something you just can't access it without permission. Never hurts to ask

Yes I am in school computer(actually I want flash for school but we can't raise enough money so I was wondering if we could use f4l). And I can ask for the admin priveleges but then what can I do? Just download and install the trial version of flash?

    Thanks again.

    Not so -- see Cygwin.

for 59 bucks per user you can try CrossoverOffice 1.1

That's right a new program to use flash and dreamweaver on Linux sans the liscense!

    Read all about it!!

Yeah... I'd rather use the beta. Of course, it's a fairly moot point in my case, since I don't use Flash. There's a sort of "Flash culture" going around at the moment that believes it's always best to use Flash. This is rarely true -- almost everything for which people tend to use Flash nowadays can be done in Javascript.
