Slashdot menu language help

When I open your menu it gives the following language problems...

...To display language characters correctly you need to install the following language pack:
Baltic

How can I uninstall baltic or remove this error. I just want to use english and arial font

Unfortunately, I can't replicate the problem (the page shows fine for me) but try using UTF-8 or ISO-2022-JP instead of Shift_JIS.

Also, as far as I am aware, Microsoft's version of Arial doesn't support Japanese characters. Try a Japanese font such as MS Mincho.

COOL the ISO-2022-jp worked like a charm! thanks - i ended up used charset=iso-8859-1

The preferred charset for most non-techie Japanese (and the default for a lot of Japanese applications) is ISO-2022-JP, although UTF-8 is preferable from a technical standpoint. I don't think ISO-8859-1 has any Japanese support.
