Default Complete Newb to Flash want loading and/or progress bar

    Hi All

I am the first to admit I have no knowledge whatsoever about Flash BUT I have a basic knowledge of html and javascript (very basic).

I am trying to edit an existing site that calls up a small flash movie window.

On slower connections this window appears to hang while it is loading the movie.

Is it possible to have a "Loading" caption come on the screen or better still a progress bar?

I have no specific tools for flash so if it requires one to work it won't be possible with my current finances.

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately, my reading of the tutorial page you referred me to seems to assume that I have some kind of flash programming tool, which, as I have already mentioned I do not.

If I have misunderstood the tutorial please explain.

Can you download? Adobe has a trial version of Flash 8 in which you can download and use to edit your file to include a preloader

    <edit> forgot the link, sorry:

    http://www.adobe.com/downloads/

scroll down till you see Macromedia Flash Professional 8 and click "try" sign up as a member (free) and download the trial version.
