what would be a good way to do this layout.
I have a General design question. I brief note about myself. I did HTML back in the mid-90's (When tables and frames were THE thing
) for a company I worked with. So it is hard to get that mentally out of my head. Now I am wanting to get back in to playing around with WebPages. But things have changed quite a bit, and I am not sure what would be the best way to do my webpage.
There will be a lot of different type of data. They layout I want is a "logo" across the top with a Horizontal "type" Menu under that (Game, Hobbies, info). Then on the left side a Vertical "sub-type" menu (Games RPG, Board, Card), with all data being in the Bottom right. I might could do a pull down but I would like the two menu system.
This sounds simple enough but all the scripts I have looked at on this site and others, books on CSS and other languages, I can't get the concept of which would be better to use. I have look at CSS, iframes and tables. I could do it in tables very easy, it would be hard to maintain. Iframes looks good but I not sure it’s the right thing. CSS I am learning know, but if I go that route it looks to very difficult to do. I am thinking about PHP, but I am not sure if the hosting service (a friend’s computer at an ISP) has PHP and I am not sure I want to tackle CSS and PHP at the same time.
What would be a good way to design the webpage, keep it modular and dynamic where it wouldn't be hard to up date?
I know this is a general question, but I am just trying to come up with ideas. BTW I am using Dreamweaver MX 2004 as my editor.

My own site is pretty similar to what you're describing; have a look.
