Pop-it Menu does not disappear and repositions other elements

*note the page is still in development and I am aware of several image problems, broken links, etc.

In Firefox & IE:
The menus to not disappear at all. I've tried adjusting the disappeardelay variable to several different values with no success.

In IE only:
The script seems to have caused IE to reposition everything to the right of the menu.

The script works fine until I add position: absolute; to the css of my navigation div, which contains the pop-it menu. The position: absolute; is needed in order to keep everything aligned correctly, otherwise I would just remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
