Default Editing Menus with Simple Tree + Photo Album

    1) Script Title: PHP Photo Album script
    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...photoalbum.htm
    PLUS!
    1) Script Title: Simple Tree Menu
    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/navigate1.htm

    3) Describe problem: I don't have a problem, per se, but a question on how I can make these two work together better. Right now, I have one page completed and all is well. I have extracted the css from the photo album and combined it with the css from the menu and together they form one external style sheet. I have my div layouts set where I want them, and the links work nicely on the menu, so I think I am in good shape.

What I want help with is the menu editing. I really don't want to have that full menu on each and every page of my album! And I certainly don't want to edit every page every time I make a change. I don't want frames (ugh.)

I've read a couple of threads here and some tutorials on the web about SSI. I tried to follow one of the tutorials, but my page only put out the entire code for the page with no images or anything. It was just as if I were reading the text file of my code.

I am beginning to think maybe I can't even do SSI with my hosting arrangement. I have economy Linux hosting through GoDaddy. I don't even know how to search for my question on their site.

Any help for a newbie like me?

p.s. One other thing ... the code for my photo album contains no php at all. It's called php Photo Album, but mine doesn't have any php code? I'm rather confused about that.

p.s.s. I've found this page that tells how to use javascript to accomplish this. Is this a good idea? Cumbersome? Bothersome? The code is already all javascript so I don't know how it would make a difference to anyone. My photo album won't work for anyone who has javascript disabled anyway. Advice?
edit: Scratch that. The tutorial says, " You can include most HTML and JavaScript coding however, you cannot include JavaScript that must access another file to run," and this menu has an external .js. sigh.
