Hello there
This seems likes the right place to interduce myself.
Please forgive me, I registered by mistake here.
Too many long hours and too much coffee.
But I decided to stay and learn a few things since im here, it never hurts to expand my knowedge I think.
Anyway Im over a half century old and most of that has been in the PC field to one extent or other.
At present I own and lease building space and in my spuratic too much spare time I like to fiddle with code for PC games.
Your never too old for fun.
I will be dipping in and out and I hope I dont make a nuisance of myself, as you can see my spelling and grammer is not the best.
Never the less I feel I can learn and contribute.
So hello and how the hell are you all?

Nice to meet you
Game programming has always been a dream of mine, but when I sit down and consider the amount of code required for a decent game, it always puts me off
Maybe one day.

If your serious about doing games one program I can recomend is "Blender Publisher", its relitivly easy to learn and priced under $50 US.
No it wont teach you to code but it will give you a good feel for whats involed while you see your efforts take shape into something you can use and enjoy.

Argh, using Blender doesn't count. I could go and download a copy of GameMaker and run it under wine too.
I'm perfectly capable of coding, and I know what's involved, which is what always puts me off.

Hello, and welcome SteelReal
I've created a game or two in GameMaker(which does allow you to code). I enjoy making simple games that are light on images because my graphic skills are horrible.

Sometimes I think your own coding allows your game to be more accustomed to your own liking. There's some good online tutorials about how to program in various languages. Then again, if you want to get right to the point and make a game, using these programs could probably prove faster, and easier. Just a thought though
