Revealing images with AJAX, how to??

Hello all,
Can anyone tell me how do I reveal images inside a div element which is inside another div element(overflow:hidden) only when the images come to view with ajax?? I mean something like google maps.



The border is the division with overflow hidden hiding the scrollbars now what I want to do is let the images 1, 2 and 3(above the images 4, 5 and 6) preload only when they are dragged into the viewport.

I hope I was able to clear my point.
