Default vertical spacing problems in IE

For some reason IE (I'm on IE6, win XP) seems to be adding a lot of vertical space that shouldn't be there between elements on my page. To make it easier to figure out I made a little page containing just the bit that I'm having problems with:

    http://www.ziggen.com/verticalspacing/

The image at the bottom is a screenshot of how my FF displays it, which is how I was expecting it to look.

Does anyone know why this is happening and/or how to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sig

Don't worry people, someone just worked it out for me. But if anyone else has the same problem, setting the display property of any divider images (if you have them) to block is a good tip.
