random fading banners, need some serious help with this

please i really need help with this script below:

im using this script to randomly select and fade 1 image to the next, basically my problem is that in dreamweaver in the design view i cant see a placeholder for the rotating image all i see is a little script icon, i need to be able to see an image placeholder as i have put my sites menu on the banner images and need to be able to draw the hyperlink maps onto the image so that i can link my site up and ppl can navigate through my site, please help im a newbie and i havnt a clue at what im doing, cheers
