Switch Menu I Persistance Problem

3) Describe problem:
I am running 2 switch menu scripts for my site and both work perfectly as I have changed all variable names in the second version of script. The ONLY thing that does not work is PERSISTENCE, which I believe has to do with reading and writing the cookie. If someone can tell me how to make it so that I can get persistence to work for both, I would really appreciate it.
