    Default still need help with circular text trail

    Hi anyone who can teach a teacher
    I use schoolnotes.com and I guess it's different from websites that you can create. We don't use <head> or <body> but we can add codes to enhance the appearance of the webpage. I want to add the circular text tail on mine but I haven't been able to get it to work. I set up a test webpage for anyone who is interested in trying to help a teacher. Please reply if you are up to the challenge.
    Thanks!!
    Andi

    Ooh, forgot to mention:

    Warning: Please include a link to the DD script in question in your post. See this thread for the proper posting format for asking a question.

    Can I have a link to the script used please?
    Cheers.

    oh sorry this is new for me...here is the code. The directions are to put it in the <HEAD> of the page.

    (PS: I know I double posted...I did that after I read that the dynamic drive code questions shouldn't be where I put mine...like I said, this is new for me)

    Thanks again!

    Argh. *whacks head against wall*

    I see what it's doing.

    Code:
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.2"><br>
    <!--//
    <br>

    <br>
    //Circling text trail- Tim Tilton
    <br>
    //Website: http://www.tempermedia.com/
    <br>
    //Visit http://www.dynamicdrive.com for this script and more
    <br>

    <br>
    Unnecessary adding of <br> to scripts.

    Erm, this could take longer than expected and/or be impossible.
    I'll reply if I manage to make it work.

    Ok, I've overcome that.

    It may now be possible.

    I know it's possible because I've seen other teachers' webpages with it on them. Unfortunately, I don't recall which ones or I would email them to find out how they did it.
    Thanks again for your efforts!!

    *dances*

    It doesn't work in FireFox, and shouldn't work at all. It's a complete disgrace that what I have done actually works (I have used invalid coding practices). But it seems to work. Odd.

    Anyway, all I did was insert the script block, with "Use PRE tag" checked (that's important), but the difference was that before I inserted the code block, I placed <head> at the start and </head> at the end.

    The simple solution[1] would be to copy the code (excluding the SGML comment delimiters which needn't be there anyway) into an external file and use

    HTML Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="trail.js"></script>
    (obviously changing the filename as necessary) to include the script.

    Mike

    [1] Well, assuming you can upload arbitrary files. If not, you'll have to remove all carriage return/line feed combinations from the script which will require every statement to end properly with a semicolon (if that isn't the case already).
