Outside of the window
Hi. A few times I came across a right click context menu that actually went outside (and remained on top) of the browser window.
Because a popup is not always the best option for viewing some content, I'm interested in applying this idea to a pseudo-window of sorts. And dynamic windows that are hidden until a link is clicked is still within the browser window.
I know that if a person was to click in the browser window outside of this pseudo-window, it would disappear (much like a context menu does). There is a window--not modeless or modal--that does this ... I've seen it but the name escapes me.
Is this possible, or am I thinking too far outside of the box? Has anyone else seen this done with context menus? Have I explained myself clear enough so other know what I'm talking about? Thanks.
