tr:hover problem in IE

I made a small file upload/list script for a friend of mine. She instantly pointed out to me that i should highlight each row, so she won't click the wrong delete button. Well, tr:hover works fine in firefox, but she uses IE.
Is there a way way to fix this IE bug or could you tell me how to achieve the same result some other way?

IE requires javascript for this, here's one:
