cookie problems

I'm having a problem with the new layout of my site's index page.

The problem is that when you revisit the page in a new browser window, it will forget all of the icons set on the desktop feature. If you refresh the page or revisit it in the same window, the icons will appear. The icons on the desktop are saved using cookies. I don't think that the cookie is actually being created.

I wold really appreciate this if anyone can help me.

whats the idea behind adding the icons. i was looking around the site, nice design but, failed to see the idea of adding the icons

The desktop is for creating shortcuts to your favorite features, so you can go to them with ease on your next visit. It won't be very useful until the site has grown some.
