stopping the conveyer belt upon hovering somewhere else?

is there a way to add functionality to the conveyer belt where it stops if you hover on something else on the page other than the conveyer belt itself?

i have combined the conveyer belt script with lightbox 2.0 successfuly. both work fine on the page. but i was wondering how i would go about stopping the conveyer belt when someone clicks on an image and the lightbox image pops up. the conveyer belt would continue when they close the lightbox.

basically if they're hovering in the lightbox image that pops up, the conveyer should stop just as if it was hovering over the conveyer belt itself. and when the user closes the lightbox image(aka not hovering over it anymore), the conveyer continues to move.

any help would be appreciated!
